News from South Branch Emergency Services

Town of Clinton Response for 2nd Alarm Fire

2/26/2024

Our station was alerted to a fire on the roof across from our headquarters just before 9PM on Sunday night.

Last evening just before 9pm, South Branch Emergency Services, Inc., along with the Clinton Fire Department and a full 2nd alarm assignment, handled a strip mall fire across the street from our headquarters on Old Rt 22 in the Town of Clinton. Our response featured not only 6 BLS Ambulances but also 2 Rescue Trucks, and our Firefighter REHAB Unit, which was supported by the Clinton Township CERT team and 2 paramedic units from Hunterdon Medical Center
Thankfully, only 1 responder required evaluation at the local medical center, and no other injuries were noted on the scene. Staying open late and assisting with supplying nourishment, we appreciate as always the team at Dominick's Pizza Clinton!

Our units operated for over 5 hours, continuing seamlessly into the next day with the deployment of our Incident Support Trailer during the investigative phase.

A thank you to Flemington-Raritan First Aid and Rescue Squad and the Pattenburg Rescue Squad Inc., who for the 2nd night in a row, assisted in providing continued coverage in our territory.

We extend our hopes for a quick recovery to our local business owners affected by this event, including the Open Cupboard Food Pantry & Thrift Shop, Just Subs Clinton, JD's Wine & Spirits, and Walgreens Clinton.

Great job protecting and serving our whole community to all who responded!

In total it was a very busy 12-hour period, where 29 dispatches for assistance were answered between 830am and 830pm yesterday, then ending with this response.
